Résumé : |
Oral production is without a doubt a very important skill when it comes to learning any language.
Thus, if we want EFL learners to be fluent and good at speaking we should think outside the box
and find variant and new ways to improve their oral production. The purpose of this work is to
explore the effectiveness of using soft skills training to improve EFL student‟s oral production. In
our study, we hypothesize that that oral production would improve significantly through studentselected participation in explicit external soft skills training. The main threefold objectives of the
work are identifying the importance of soft skills training and how it is used in education and EFL
classes; discussing the main problems which may hinder the oral performance and providing
strategies to help EFL learners overcome these difficulties; and, lastly investigating how soft skills
training affects EFL students‟ oral production. This study is based on two research instruments.
An interview in which two soft skills training program managers took part and a
questionnaire administrated to EFL learners who took part in one or more soft skills training
programs. The analysis of the interviews and the questionnaire showed that both soft skills
training program managers and students feel confident about using soft skills training to improve
the oral production of EFL students. |
