Résumé : |
The present study attempts to highlight the role of educational games in the
development of vocabulary knowledge. It aims to see to what extent educational games help
students to promote their vocabulary knowledge, and if they are applied in third year, middle
school. We hypothesized that if teachers use educational games inside the classroom as a
strategy then the student‟s vocabulary knowledge would be improved. In order to prove this
hypothesis, Questionnaires were addressed to both teachers and students in Aisha Oum
Elmouminin middle school. We choose random samples of students and four teachers. The
attitudes of students and teachers on the use of educational games as a strategy to increase
vocabulary knowledge are clearly stated. The findings of this study assert the hypothesis, and
it revealed that the use of educational games in classroom help students learn and retain
vocabulary due to the pleasant atmosphere they create. In other words, educational games are
an effective strategy for developing the learners‟ vocabulary knowledge. Thus, teachers
should use it in EFL classroom. |
