Résumé : |
This study is conducted to investigate the difference between e-learning and the traditional
classroom and the main challenges faced by students. This research intends to highlight the
main problems both teachers and students encounter to use e-learning as an alternative of the
old traditional classroom, it also aims at suggesting some helpful insights to apply and use the
e–learning efficiently for the required academic achievement. Practically speaking, this
research is an attempt to test the research assumption which assumes that the traditional
learning system will be more beneficial if it is well-accompanied by distant learning which
will equip learners by modern ways to achieve better academically. For the purpose to gather
the necessary data, two main questionnaires are used as research tools; one questionnaire is
directed to a random sample of thirty (30) students of third year intentionally chosen. Another
questionnaire is submitted to twenty (20) teachers of different specialities, and both samples
are from the department of English at the University of Constantine 1 in order to have an idea
about their opinions towards remote teaching. After analyzing the data collected from both
questionnaires, the results show that students find that the implementation of e-learning is not
efficient due to plenty of difficulties and challenges. Both teachers and students insist that
training for the use e-learning is really required; it is also indicated that authorities have to
take into consideration the development of such system seriously through providing practical
platforms and improving the quality of Internet, for instance. Accordingly, some pedagogical
recommendations are proposed as an attempt to overcome this problem. |
