Résumé : |
Learning foreign languages has never been an easy task to accomplish, and getting
students motivated and engaged in the learning process often requires much hard
work and motivation. Feedback is no doubt a crucial component of the learning
process that is provided by teachers in the classroom in order to correct students’ oral
production and motivate them to learn. The main goal of our research is to shed more
light on one of the most essential strategies in foreign language teaching: providing
feedback to second-year English language students in order to enhance their
motivation to learn . In other words, it tries to show the importance of feedback, that
the teacher provides, in fostering the learners' motivation to improve their oral
performance. This research is built on the principle that if teachers used appropriately
an effective oral feedback in the classroom, it would increase students’ motivation and
enhance their oral performance . Two questionnaires are used to examine our topic
sent to second-year students and oral expression teachers at the University of Frères
Mentouri- Constantine1 Department of English, in order to collect data and get
findings that would allow us to test the validity of our study hypothesis. Our findings
affirm the important role of teachers’ feedback on students' motivation in learning to
enhance their oral performance. Therefore the hypothesis has been confirmed. |
