Résumé :	The current study aims at examining the problem of limited vocabulary affecting the performance of third year students of English at the department of Foreign Languages, Constantine 1 university while communicating inside the classroom. In order to examine this problem, we hypothesize that if third year English students at the department of FL possess sufficient vocabulary, they would communicate successfully without difficulties and embarrassment. To verify the above hypothesis and to achieve the aim of this research, a test was administered to a sample of third year students. In fact, the test results have confirmed the research hypothesis and revealed that students have limited vocabulary
