classrom interation is an effective pedagogical tool which helps learners in
maximizing their learning levels and facilitates the learning process. The present study seeks
to investigate the impact of such a strategy on developing the students’ communicative
abilities in English as a Foreign Language . Thus, we hypothesized that if teachers direct their
classroom settings in a way that makes their students interact, than their students’
communicative abilities would develop. To reach the aim, two questionnaires were devised to
Second Year LMD students and teachers of Oral Expression at the department of English,
Mentouri Brothers‘ University, Constantine. The findings obtained show that both teachers
and students prefer classroom interaction and find it the appropriate strategy to enhance
communicative ability, however ; they insist on some suggestions to be taken into account in
the classroom among which more practice, more feedback, the use of English songs and the
use of technology. |
