Résumé :	The present research aims to highlight the impact of the Great Depression on women on different sides, both social and economic. It shows the quality life they used to have and the sudden change which took everything good away from them, making women struggle along with their families in order to survive from the severe poverty, pushing the role of women to change from being just a sex partner and housewife to emerge as a breadwinner, taking the lead and control over the family which also includes their participation at that time to achieve equality with men in the workforce. In addition to that, it deals with Frances Perkins’s life and leadership, zooming on the major events of her life and the ones which had an impact on society as a whole.

Résumé :	The present research aims to highlight the impact of the Great Depression on women on different sides, both social and economic.
