Résumé : |
This research paper focuses on the impact of media on U.S presidential campaign of 2008. It‟s about the historical development of the different means of communication, and their role in American politics from the past to the present. As an influential tool of shaping public opinion, media enabled the public to be active in politics and contributed in the policy making process, especially during the period of elections. In the 2008 election, when Barack Obama and John McCain led fierce confrontations to reach the White House, media played a vital role where both candidates used media to mobilize and gain more voters. This election saw an extensive use of the internet, and social media that helped Obama to become the U.S president, and defeat McCain, who was not in touch with the new technology. |
