The current study deals with the improvement of the oral skill through a regular practice of classroom interaction in English Foreign Language classrooms. The research problem of the given study is to see whether classroom interaction is applied regularly in our English classrooms at the Department of English Constantine 1 University, and to what extent it helps the students to develop their language skills in general and the speaking skill in particular. Therefore, the topic was chosen because of the noted difficulties that learners are facing when they use the English language; since that interaction is the best way to practice the speaking skill in class, so, learners are supposed to be given opportunities to use the language as much as possible. In order to investigate the aforementioned topic, questionnaires were conducted to both, Third year LMD students and Oral Expression teachers at Department of letters and English language in Constantine 1 University. The analysis of the questionnaires presented that both teachers and learners are aware of the outcomes of classroom interaction in oral promotion. Though, the obtained results showed that in our classrooms the interaction is not very successful but it helps to reduce the speaking difficulties |
