Résumé :	The Decline of the Liberal Party (1910-1935) happened over a short period and in a sudden way.It is especially intriguing because it came after two landslide victories for the party in the general elections of 1906 and 1910. This research looks into the causes of this demise, singling out the First World War as a possible major cause. This work argues that, despite the undeniable role of the First World War in precipitating the demise of the Liberal Party, the party was itself responsible for its decline, and not merely a victim of circumstance. This dissertation is divided into two chapters.The first chapter is about the First World War and its impact on the party.The second chapter is about proving that the decline had started before the coming of the war. The research concludes that the issue of the Irish Home Rule, the emergence of the Labour Party, and the Liberal time of unrestbetween 1911and1914 were all contributing causes to the decline of the Liberal Party
