This study examines; the relationship that might exist between learner’s personality and
learning a second language; and this can occur by asking two main questions:
The first is what do we mean by the personality features that influence the learning process?
And the second is what the real meaning of a second language acquisition is? Data were
collected from a sample of third year students at the Department of English at Mentouri
University 1 in Constantine during the academic year 2014-2015 by means of a questionnaire
and a statistical test. A total of 50 students participate in students’ questionnaire and a sample
of 10 teachers was also used. The reason behind this is to obtain qualitative data. The results
were studied to examine the personality features and the impact they might have on the
learning process. The results showed that there is indeed a relationship between learner’s
personality and learning a second language |
