Résumé :	This dissertation attempts to identify the role of classroom interaction in developing students’ speaking skill. The problem is that learners’ speaking ability is not good. This problem may be due to the methods and techniques followed by the teachers of English in teaching the speaking skill. Those methods and techniques do not lead learners to learn how to communicate. For this reason, we suggest classroom interaction which we hope will help learners to learn how to communicate and how to develop the speaking skill. In this research, we use two questionnaires. One is handed to 10 teachers who have been teaching for some years oral expression. The second one is handed to the third year students in the department of English at Constantine 1 University. The results of this questionnaire show that the classroom interaction is an important technique in developing the speaking skill. The students’ questionnaire is used in order to see the effectiveness of classroom interaction in learning the speaking skill. The results of the questionnaire demonstrate that classroom interaction helped third-year university students to learn the speaking skill
