Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : British and American Studies Child Labour British Revolution 1750-1850 Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Child labor is a widespread phenomenon that existed in the British society in the
eighteenth century, especially during the period of industrialization which occurred between
1750 and 1850. Most of the popular discussions of historians have centered on the problems
of child labor and the harmful effects they had on children during the industrial revolution.
Poverty is considered the root cause of child labor. During that period children were
employed at a very small age and did the adults’ work. Therefore, the effects were even worse
which caused them suffering and the loss of their childhood because they were forcibly
employed and did hard works for a very small amount of money. In the course of their
employment, they lost their rights in education which was totally neglected.
The Present study seeks to show the living and working conditions of the children in
that period, also to show their significant role in the British society during the time of the
industrial revolution. The study is made to reveal the black spot of child labor in the history of
Great Britain and the extent to which children suffered and what the role of children was in
the industrial revolution.
This study is based on primary sources and more particularly on the Factory Acts of
1833, 1844 and 1847 Acts. Also the Mine Act of 1842 which particularly passed to reduce the
hours of work of children.
Michael Sadler, a leader of the factory reform movement in the parliament, conducted
some interviews with these small children and which today constitute a precious documents
for people interested in this question.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4499 Child labour during the british industrial revolution : 1750-1850 [texte imprimé] / Amina Ayache, Auteur ; Brahim Harouni, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 58 f. ; 30 cm.

Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : British and American Studies South – African Racism Camps System Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The Apartheid system in South Africa, seriously threatened the stability of the country after the independence and widen up the gap between the Blacks « Natives », and the Whites « Afkikaners », and it was due to many reasons : the coming of Europeans, and the first colonization by te Dutch, then the second one by the British. This led to a conflict, that resulted in wars, this conflict was over the dominance of the country and its sources. An other reason was the growth of the Nationalism sentiment of the Boers after the suffering from concentration camps which resulted in over 20.000 dead. This dissertation aims to describe the two remarkable periods in South Africa history: the Concentration Camps System(1900-1902), and the Apartheid System(1948-1990), through giving a brief insight in the historical contest of the Anglo-Boer war, and the relations between the whites : Boers and British, and the Blacks. Then the emergence of the concentration camps in 1901, which was the trigger of an obvious racial segregation between Blacks and Boers. Further more, the most remarkable impact of the Camps policy, which resulted in a similar system after South African independence ; the Apartheid system ; which shows the same interests of Afrikaners towards blacks, as the British, plus the white complex of superiority and that the whites are God’s chosen nation.
