Résumé : |
Effective learning can only occur in a healthy and vibrant climate where teachers can build a
trusting relationship with their learners whereby they can attract more their attention and help
them be more interactive. Here, humour can intervene as an effective motivational tool for
learners and indispensible ingredient necessary to successful teaching/learning process. This
dissertation investigates the importance of using humour for enhancing students’ interaction
in EFL classrooms and to highlight the significance of teachers’ sense of humour in creating a
positive and relaxed environment that helps in motivating students to be more interactive. In
other words, it examines the correlation between teachers’ use of humour and students
motivation to promote learners’ interaction. This study is based on two questionnaires
administrated to both the second year LMD students and teachers of different modules to
know their opinions regarding the use of humour for enhancing students’ interaction. The
analysis of the questionnaires revealed that both learners and teachers consider the use of
humour as an important pedagogical tool for motivating students and promoting classroom
interaction. |
