Résumé :	The current research work aims at investigating the problems that master 1 students face when translating homonyms from English into Arabic particularly homographs and homophones. The translation of homonymous words seem to cause many difficulties, for this reason we hypothesized that if master 1 students of English aware of lexemes that have the same spelling or pronunciation but different in meaning, they will translate homonyms appropriately. Hence, in this research, a questionnaire and a test were administered to twenty six master 1 learners at the department of English university of Constantine 1. The results obtained show that most of the students have found difficulties in the translation of homographs; they did not provide appropriate translations.
