Résumé :	The purpose of my study is to show how Humbert Humbert’s complex psychology creates a double response from the readers of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita . In this novel . Nabokov introduces a double vision of his protagonist Humbert which is a mixture of the beastly and beautiful . He also reveals his protagonist’s pschizophrenic character which keeps each time confuse the readers of his novel and create a difficulty in judgement . This study allows the reader to understand how Nabokov manages to give existence to a pedophile’s special case and illegitimate love through introducing Humbert’s complex mixture of thoughts and feelings that are difficult to solve . In this respect , the reader understands that Humbert’s psychology is the key reason behind the creation of a double response from Lolita of Vladimir Nabokov
