Résumé : |
According to Ouscourt (2008), students of university face many
problems to write academic compositions. The students of Constantine
University as a sample of the Algerian Universities find many difficulties to
write effectively. Because of that, they are always complaining about their
problems to write academic English compositions.
The present study is an attempt to examine students’ learning strategies
particularly the writing skill. It is hypothesized, in this study, that students find
real difficulties in writing accurate compositions. For the sake of improving
this skill, we suggest "Group Work "as a strategy to overcome this weakness.
The purpose of this experimental study is to know more about the effect of
collaborative writing in the improvement of third year English students essays
at Mentouri University.
The experiment is carried out through the comparison of two groups of
students; one group wrote essays individually, and the other wrote the same
topic in group of three students. Through the comparison of both groups
mistakes in some aspects as punctuation and capitalization, the results indicate
that Group Work as a learning strategy affected the students’ writing quality |
