Interest in this topic stems from the importance of varying sentence types while writing essays for the sake of richness and understandability. Collecting data about the sentence structure(s) students frequently use and subsequent mistakes is based on an essay writing test and two questionnaires, one addressed to students and another one to teachers of third year classes. The analysis of the findings of the questionnaires revealed that both students and teachers consider that writing is a difficult skill and that students fail to produce accurate compositions. In addition, most students have an average writing level, and they do not use different types of sentences because they do not understand them, so they use only simple or compound sentences. On the contrary, analysis of students’ essays demonstrated that they create complex and compound complex sentences much more. This leads them to write a lot of run-ons full of comma splices. Therefore, teachers should in different ways make students aware of the way they actually write so that they avoid making the same mistakes in the future. Titre : Students’ use of mnemonic strategies for vocabulary learning and recall : The case of first-year LMD students of English at University of Constantine 1 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Asma Yarnoub, Auteur ; Chahrazad Chouaf, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2013 Importance : 66 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Mnemonic Strategies Vocabulary Learning Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Poor vocabulary banks and inefficient word-attack strategies impede students from
achieving a good level in learning second or foreign languages. Furthermore, encountering
a word once or twice does not ensure its memorization and later recall. Hence, searching
for effective strategies that enable learners to comprehend and remember words is of
paramount importance. From here stems the interest in the present study which attempts to
explore students’ awareness and use of mnemonics to promote vocabulary learning.
Moreover, it aims at investigating the usefulness of such ways in developing students’
word stores. This study hypothesize if first-year LMD students of English at university of
Constantine 1 show awareness of mnemonic strategies, then they are likely to use them to
enhance their vocabulary. For these reasons, a questionnaire is administered to a sample of
fifty first-year LMD students at the University of Constantine 1, during the academic year
2012-2013, to bring insights into their real opinions on and attitudes towards mnemonics.
The analysis of the findings reveal that very few mnemonic strategies are put into use by
students even though they believe them to have a positive impact on vocabulary
development.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3929 Students’ use of mnemonic strategies for vocabulary learning and recall : The case of first-year LMD students of English at University of Constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Asma Yarnoub, Auteur ; Chahrazad Chouaf, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2013 . - 66 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : Teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards L1Use in EFL classrooms : The case study of master 1 LMD students of english at constantine university Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Hakim Tairelil, Auteur ; Chahrazad Chouaf, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2018 Importance : 91 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : UNE COPIE ELECTRONIQUE PDF DISPONIBLE AU BUC Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Teachers,Attitudes,Classrooms Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The use of L1 in EFL classes has become a common means in the process of teaching and learning
English. However, the problem foreign language learners face is that sometimes they fail to express
themselves in the TL. Teachers, too, restrict themselves around the use of the TL and spend enormous
time and energy to transmit the information in the TL, while it can be replaced by a word or two from
the L1. The current study, then, aims at spotting light on teachers’ and learners’ attitudes towards the
use of the MT in EFL classroom, and to identify their levels of awareness. Therefore, we hypothesized
that if the L1 is used, it will expectedly facilitate the learning process. In order to verify the validity of
the previously stated hypothesis, two questionnaires were addressed to both teachers and students. The
teacher questionnaire was administrated to twelve EFL teachers in the department of English at
Constantine University, seeking to know their points of view about L1 use in the classroom. The
student questionnaire was given to sixty Master one students in the same department and University, to
investigate their opinions regarding the aforementioned topic. The main findings elicited from both
students’ and teachers’ reactions reveal that both parties are against the use of L1 in the EFL classroom
where they believe that the L1 hinders the learning of the TL. In addition to that, the results proved that
they are not aware of its importance in facilitating the learning process.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=9930 Teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards L1Use in EFL classrooms : The case study of master 1 LMD students of english at constantine university [texte imprimé] / Hakim Tairelil, Auteur ; Chahrazad Chouaf, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2018 . - 91 f. ; 30 cm.

showing the importance of vocabulary knowledge and how students can overcome the
difficulties they face when they write, and therefore produce better written texts. To achieve
this aim, a vocabulary test was administered to the students, in addition to their Written
Expression exam marks. The vocabulary test was addressed to forty (40) third year students in
the Department of English at the University of Constantine, seeking to measure the amount of
vocabulary knowledge they possess. Students’ exam marks seek to measure their level in the
writing skill in comparison to their vocabulary knowledge. The correlation between the two

of vocabulary knowledge and the writing skillDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10316 The influence of vocabulary knowledge on the students writing performance : The case of third year lmd students, department of english university “frères mentouri” constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Aya Meriem Sefsaf, Auteur ; Chahrazad Chouaf, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2018 . - 98 f ; 30 cm.
