The present study deals with the implementation of the cooperative learning strategy to
enhance and improve the EFL students writing skill. Moreover, it introduces some of the
problems that students might have when writing in second language, these problems are
anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of motivation, poor knowledge of the appropriate use of
grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation. In addition, to explain how can cooperative
learning used as an affective technique to develop the learners’ level of English language
writing. To confirm the validity of our hypothesis, two questionnaires have been administered
for both third year LMD students the aim behind selecting third year LMD students is that
they have been studying writing as a separate module for 3years, and teachers of written
expression in the Department of Letters and English Language University Des Frère Mentouri
Constantine. The results obtained from the questionnaires show that both teachers and
students have positive attitude towards cooperative learning and that it is one of the
appropriate strategies that increases students writing proficiency, in addition it creates a good
atmosphere in classroom where students feel motivated and comfortable to practice writing
without the fear of doing mistakes. |
