It has been indicated that the war on Iraq could be understood as part of U.S. supremacy in the Middle East from global hegemony. Simply stated, September 11th was basically a pretext for the Bush Administration to put into practice a pre-existing war strategy toward Iraq. Furthermore, the Iraq invasion has been described as part of a bigger plan of American imperial expansion, as an obvious capture for oil and business earnings, besides as part of a program to secure Israeli dominance of the Middle East.
