The effect of the author‘s life on the literary creation is oftentimes tremendous social , historical and psychological contexts print in fact finger on the author’s production and mingle reality with fiction. As such reader’s task is highly demanding for he has to unveil the truth and distinguish the author’s real life from that of narrator.
Therefore, this work aims to investigate Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield narrative features to demonstrate whether this novel is an autobiography elements or not to reach this objective. The work is divided into three chapters . the first chapter consists to investigate whether David Copperfield is on autobiography elements . The work will be divided into three main chapters .The first chapter aims to give the reader an overview about history , social ,and literary background of Victorian era .The second chapter is about Autobiographical approach and Dickens’s life in his works “Oliver twist” , “ Great expectation” and ” The Hard time”. While the last chapter deals with the corpus analysis; which consists the commonness between the author and his hero where I demonstrated that David Copperfield in fact is a fictional autobiography. |
