Résumé : |
The present study covers the impact of motivation in enhancing students’ spoken fluency. It
introduces some language activities that promote this skill and improves students’
proficiency. In this study, we aim at enhancing students’ fluency in the oral skill through
motivation and suggesting that motivating students is the key concept to improve their spoken
fluency. The problem we are confronted with in this research is the kind of relationship
between learners’ motivation and their speaking skill. It was hypothesized that if the students’
motivation in the classroom increased, they would improve spoken fluency. We have adapted
a descriptive methodology of investigation with regard to the requirements of the present
research work. We used two questionnaires administered to both teachers and second year
students at the Department of Letters and English Language, University “Des Frères
Mentouri” Constantine. The results of the present study confirm the teachers’ awareness and
readiness of the efficiency of motivating learners to perform better orally and students’
willingness to be motivated in order to improve their spoken proficiency. In other words,
there is a positive correlation between motivation and spoken fluency enhancement |
