If truth be told, representations of African Americans in films changed throughout time and started to notice a progress up from the 1960s. This study probes into the relationship between the civil rights movement and the progress of African American representations from the 1960s to the late 1970s. It encompasses the effective means to eliminate the evil of racial discrimination on the parts of black activists. This study depicts the steps of progress of the African American depictions in motion picture from the late nineteenth century to the late twentieth century. Moreover, it examines the crusades of black activists to bring about equality for the black race.
