Résumé : |
The present study aims at investigating students’ attitudes towards teachers’ error correction
during a speaking class. My objective is to know how teachers’ feedback is going to affect
EFL students’ errors and to call attention to the importance of error correction.I hypothesized
that if the first year students’,at the department of English language-Mentouri Brothers’
University Constantine1,attitudes towards error correction are positive, they will minimize the
production of errors and will improve their speaking abilities. To check the validity of the
research hypothesis and reach my aim, two questionnaires were handed. One questionnaire
was given to teachers of oral expression at the department of English language, Mentouri
Brothers’ University Constantine1 and the other questionnaire was administrated to first year
students at the same department. The analysis and the discussion of the obtained data have
shown that students have positive attitudes towards error correction in general and teachers’
error correction in particular. They believe that it is very important in the process of learning
to reach the proficiency in the language. Therefore, my hypothesis has been confirmed. |
