In this dissertation finite-difference methods (FDM) is one the importante numerical methods for solving differential equations by approximating them with
difference equations, in which finite differences approximate the derivatives.
FDMs are thus discretization methods. FDMs are the dominant approach to
numerical solutions of partial differential equations. In the first chapter our
objective of this study is to present numerical analysis tools for proving the
convergence of numerical schemes like finite difference method and two-grid,
mainly for parabolic equations (heat equation in 1-D and in 2-D). In the second
chapter we present directly and indirectly, we present . Finally, in chapiter 3
we present a finite difference method (FDM) seems to be the simplest medoths
approach for the numerical solution of heat equation in 1-D and 2-D. Then
we introduce some important concepts such as convergence and stability and a
multi-grid method with all packages.Results and codesin Matlab corresponding
to standard finite difference method and MGMs are also presented |
