This study outlines the theories and the conceptions of gender differences that have affected
both the society and the American modern civil rights movement that seek to make the notion
of inequality dwindle. Furthermore, it serves to show the achievements and actions of
African- American women and, which have been obliterated such as the case of Ella Baker
,Fannie Lou Hamer and Septima Clark. Through the civil rights movement, black women
affirmed their strength, capabilities and persistent efforts to bring about changes and acquire
civil rights. To fight for the liberation of blacks, black women have to fight against any
oppression since racism and sexism assign people roles, based on stereotypes and supposed
attributes. |
