Résumé : |
Motivating students to perform better in classroom, and helping them achieve
their future outcomes has been the greatest challenge for many educational psychologists,
teachers, experts in the field of education. The present study aims at investigating the role
played by Extrinsic motivation in improving students’ performances in official exams mainly
the Baccalaureate exam. To reach the aims of this study it was hypothesized that ‘If students
are highly extrinsically motivated; their performance in official exams will improve.’ To test
the hypothesis and answer the research questions, data was collected through two
questionnaires one administered to thirty (30) second year Foreign Languages learners and the
other to five teachers at Houari Boumediene Secondary School in Constantine. The results
revealed the existence of a positive relationship between the use of Rewards (Extrinsic
Motivation) and learners’ outcomes. |
