livestock and have zoonotic implications. A cross-sectional study is carried out to estimate
prevalence of Chlamydia spp. antibodies and to investigate risk factors associated with
chlamydial infection in 552 ewes between March 2011 and January 2012. A serological
screening is conducted to determine prevalence of antibodies against five infectious agents in
226 ewes. ELISA, rapid slide agglutination and slow agglutination techniques are used to detect
antibodies against Chlamydia spp., Coxiella burnetii, Brucella melitensis, Salmonella abortus
ovis and Neospora caninum. Antibodies toward Chlamydia spp. and Coxiella burnetii were the
most prevalent. Anti-Chlamydia spp. and anti-C. abortus antibodies were present in respectively
24,5 % and 7,2 % of examined sera. Of the herds, 70,4 % had at least one seropositive animal for
Chlamydia spp. and 33,3 % for C. abortus. A pretested structured questionnaire was
administered in order to collect information on individual animal health and herd management
practices. Chi-square analysis and multivariable logistic regression model were used to identify
risk factors related to Chlamydia spp. and C. abortus seropositivity. Multivariable logistic
regression model identified 12-23 months age group and not using disinfectants as risk factors
for Chlamydia spp. seropositivity. Occurrence of stillbirth and 5–10 % mortality rate in young
lambs were significantly associated with Chlamydia spp. seropositivity. However, availability of
veterinary service was identified as a protective factor. The model revealed that foreign farm
visitors are a risk factor for enzootic abortion of ewes. Results of this study determined two
major variables associated with seropositivity to C. abortus; delivery of weak lambs and
septicemia in young lambs. Molecular characterization by PCR-RFLP of 104 fetal and placental
ovine samples confirmed infection with C. abortus in 4 placentas and 26 fetal tissues. The partial
nucleotide sequence similarity matrix of omp2 gene showed that the Algerian isolates have 96%
similarity with C. abortus FAS strain and 84.3 % similarity with C. caviae strain while a low
similarity the other species of the genus Chlamydophila was found. Histological examination of
PCR positive placentas revealed a severe placentitis."

deep sedation, good analgesia and minimal side effects.
This study, conducted in double-blind, on 10 dogs, compared sedative, analgesic, cardiovascular, respiratory and
changes in certain biochemical parameters (blood glucose, hematocrit and total protein) of morphine and
fentanyl both associated with the acepromazine in sedation of dogs. It suggests that acepromazine /fentanyl
association provided sedation similar to acepromazine / morphine association, but not as longer duration of
action intensity as acepromazine / morphine association.
Under the sedative efficacy and greater safety of the association, it appears desirable to promote clinical
multimodal approach more than monotherapy approach under sedation of the dog or cat."

To fight against this pathology passes by a knowledge of the bacteria in causes and their epidemiology.
The present study related on the one hand, on the evaluation of the prévalence of the germs responsible for the clinical mastitis and the study of some aspects of their epidemiology in 35 dairy herds and on the other hand, to evaluate the prévalence and the etiology of the subclinic mastitis in the cows at the end of the lactation in four dairy herds. The performance of the CMT to identify subclincal mastitis at the end of the lactation was evaluated. The in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility of bacteria isolated from cow milk samples was tested. Treatment of dairy cows at drying off has been practiced.
Results obtained showed :
A strong prévalence (32,6%) of the clinical cows with clinical mastitis. The bacteriological analysis of 252 milk samples milk showed : 28,4% of Staphylococcus aureus, 21,6% of Eschérichia coli, 13,7% of Streptococcus agalactiae. The coagulase negative staphylococci with a frequency of 10,8% seem increasingly accused in the clinical mastitis.
The prévalence of the cows with subclnical mastitis at the end of the lactation is 73,6% and the quarters 40,3%. The frequency of the germs responsible for subclnical mastitis was estimated on 121 cows at the end of the lactation. Out of he 464 milk samples, 59,7% were bacteriological negative. The germs observed most often are :
Staphylococcus aureus (30,9%), coagulase negative staphylococci (25,9%), Streptococcus agalactiae (23,2%) and Eschérichia coli (15,9%).
Staphylococcus aureus is the predominant bacterial pathogen in subclinical and clinical mastitis. Environmental pathogens are not to neglect in the cause of the clinical mastits.
Moreover, this study revealed the presence of antibiotic residues in 17,1% of the 35 milk samples analyzed.
The in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility of bacteria isolated from cow milk samples showed high resistance to penicillin, ampicillin, oxacillin, tetracyclin, streptomycin and erythromycin.
During the dry period, the treatment eliminates 91% of pathogenic organism. The rate of new infections prevented is 88%.Diplôme : Doctorat En ligne : ../theses/veterinaire/BOU4260.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=1887 Contribution à l'étude des infections intramammaires de la vache laitiere dans l'Est algeriens [texte imprimé] / Omar Bouaziz, Auteur ; F. Reproductive tract of sheep (n = 501) were collected from 4 slaughterhouses in eastern Algeria (Ras el Oued ""Bordj Bou Arreridj"" Sétif, Constantine and El Khroub) over a period of 7 months. The gross examination of collected specimens was confirmed by histological examination. In total, 14.77% of tracts were pregnant and 25.14% exhibited abnormalities. The highest rates of abnormality were in the ovaries (19.9%), followed by the uteri (5.4%). Predominant lesions in ovaries were paraovarian cysts (8.78%), cystic corpora lutea (5%) and ovarian adhesions (4.8%). Predominant uterine disorders were chronic endometritis (1%) and fetal maceration (0.8%). The most common lesions in the broad ligament and vagina were calcified and parasitic cysts (3.8%), especially those of Cysticercus tenuicollis. the abnormalities of the oviduct and the cervix were less common. Genital tuberculosis were observed in the oviduct, uterus and the broad ligament (0.4%).The presence of hydatid cyst in the ovary and endometriosis cyst confirmed by histological examination, was exceptional in sheep. These results, suggest that lesions of the reproductive tract of ewes may represent a significant source of loss to the sheep industry in Algeria.

Sciences VétérinairesTags : Brebis Ouled Djellal gain moyen quotidien métabolites sanguins note d'état corporel rebuts de dattes stade physiologique Index. décimale : 636 Sciences Vétérinaires Résumé : The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of nutrition on the productive
performances of reproductive ewes through the valorization of local food resources. Thus
partial or total barely substitution by dates wastes is undertaken in order to evaluate the
influence of energy complementation on the metabolic profile and the ponderal performances
of the ewes and their lambs.
The study was conducted on 135 healthy, multiparous Ouled Djellal ewes aged between 3 and
4 years, belonging to the experimental farm of ITELV-Ain M'lila located in the East of
Algeria.
The physico-chemical analysis of the feed showed that concentrate and hay are the richest in
dry matter, organic matter and cell walls (NDF and ADF). Green forages are the richest in
total nitrogen and total ash, contrary to the dates wastes that are the most lignified (ADL). The
evaluation of the chemical composition of rations (0% R, 25% R, 50% R and 75% R)
distributed at the end of pregnancy did not revealed any significant difference except for the
100% incorporated ration of dates wastes which shows the highest rate in ADF and cellulose
and the lowest rate in hemicellulose.
The study of the influence of the physiological stage on various biochemical blood parameters
in the Ouled Djellal ewes of the semi-arid zones showed that the pregnancy or lactation state
affect significantly the serum levels of glucose (p<0,001), cholesterol (p<0,001), triglyceride
(p=0,0003), total protein (p=0,0007), urea (p<0,0001), albumin (p<0,0001), creatinine
(p<0,0001), bilirubine (p<0,0001), calcium (p=0,01), phosphate (p=0,005), magnesium
(p<0,0001) and iron (p=0,0001) as well as the enzyme activity of ASAT (p=0,0004), ALAT
(p<0,0001) and GGT (p=0,0005).
The metabolic profile of ewes at the end of pregnancy, supplemented with 25% of dates
wastes, is characterized by hypoglycemia (p=0,0002) accompanied by significant
hypercholesterolemia (p=0,008) and hypertriglyceridemia (p<0,0001). While, the levels of
total proteins (p<0,0001), albumin (p=0,0006), urea (p=0,005), creatinine (p=0,002) and
bilirubin (p=0,002) were significantly lower in group supplemented with 50% of dates wastes,
as well as the concentrations of ASAT (p<0,05), ALAT (p=0,006), GGT (p<0,01),
phosphorus (p=0,002), magnesium (p<0,0001), sodium (p=0,0003) and iron (p=0,01) showed
a significant decrease in the same group.
The analysis of the data relating to the performances of production shows clearly that Ouled
Djellal ewes supplemented with 25% and 50% of date wastes improved significantly their of
body condition score (p<0,0001) and their dairy production (p<0,0001). Which reflected
positively the performance of their products growth. Contrary to the birth, the 20 days old
lambs resulting from the supplemented mothers with 50% are significantly heaviest
(11,91±0,41 kg ; p<0,0001) with the highest growth rate equal to 302,9±18,32 g/j ; p<0,0001).
On the other hand, at 1 month of age, the feed mode had a notable effect on the average
weight and GMQ of the lambs of the 25% batch (335,6±55 g/j ; p>0,05).
Despite of the low level of dates wastes in crude proteins the use of this energetic co-product
during steaming remains efficient for the improvement of growth performance in lambs
through the improvement of the diary production of their mothers.Diplôme : Doctorat en sciences En ligne : ../theses/veterinaire/DJA7078.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10523 Influence de l'alimentation sur la reproduction des petits ruminants.
