Therefore, when building infrastructure, manufacturers are enormous difficulties, especially in some regions, including the CONDE-Smendou. In this region spend three of the most important infrastructures of Algeria, RN3, the railway line connecting Constantine Skikda and recently the East-West highway. This is the area where companies have struggled to develop some sections of the East-West highway, and this
because of the poor quality of materials "rock", but also because of the misinterpretation of investigations made by consulting firms.
We are mainly interested in this study the formation of the rocks of this region. In this context and varied geological and geomorphological complex, characterized by high tectonic activity and active seismic activity, we examined the morphological consequences of tectonic and erosion processes.
The main areas that we have discussed in this magister memory are the dismemberment and evolution of structural relief terrain and tectonic movements, analysis of regional structural morphological markers, active tectonics and seismic activity, then the study and characterization of the quality of the materials present.
The tools and techniques used in the context of this work include imaging and geomatics as well as litho stratigraphic correlation. Furthermore, X-ray analyzes on a series of samples allowed us to have a better characterization of materials and rocks making up this region.
After analyzing our different results, we were able to develop two morpho-structural maps (scale 1:
20,000). These cards made from the interpretation of aerial photographs, provide a wealth of information about the origin of morphological elements (scree cone droppings, landslides and solifluxion) and the origin of structural elements (fault scarps, dip and accidents). These maps reveal a rather complex fracture network that confirms the existence and the role played by some accident directions, their essential nature and the extent of their scopes. This data can help to update
the currently used map showing a relatively even terrain, moderately unstable geological and without morphological peculiarities. - 93 f. ; 30 cm.

Northern Algeria presents a complex geology, structures and varied formations reflecting a geological history and palaeogeographic event. It is localized in a zone of convergence of plates and is characterized by a seismic activity important, result of an important internal geodynamics. The region of Oued Athmania, which is part of this active margin, has undergone a significant morpho-structural evolution during the Miocene and throughout the Quaternary. The relief has many deformations: some slopes have a chaotic and bloated appearance reflecting the fragility of the environment and its sensitivity to active morphogenesis manifested, inter alia, by different types of ground movements ranging from small stripping to large landslides, tipping crop fields and consequently reduced agricultural land, disruption of river dynamics
and deposition of a considerable amount of materials at the wadi beds. These disturbances, in their size and scope, are beginning to pose serious problems for development and road infrastructure. This work is a contribution to the knowledge of these gravitational movements, to the identification of the major factors that are responsible for them, in particular those related to the morpho structural context and the mapping of the areas susceptible to landslides in the oued Athmania region. The methodology adopted was based on the analysis of the geological environment: it was to draw geomorphological and hydrographic features and to understand the history and evolution of the study area. Field observations, the deciphering of aerial photos, the analysis of the hydrographic network, geological and topographic maps, the hypsometric map and the digital terrain model were all steps that allowed us to make an assumption about the process of slope instability, thus highlighting the causal part of the faciological parameters such as the granulometric composition and the mineralogical procession of the affected formations and their properties, in order to map the potentially vulnerable zones with the help of a geographic information system that provides assured leadership to a real decision support system. This cartography exploits the functionalities offered by GIS for the structuring of data, the crossing of information layers and the spatial analysis of different themes. It also includes the AHP multicriteria hierarchical analysis approach which allowed us to assemble a multitude of decision criteria into a single model, to make a comparative evaluation of each pair of criteria and to calculate their weights for the assessment. Compared each pair of options against each subcriterion. The combination of these working techniques allowed us to reveal new morphostructures in the region and to identify a wide variety of terrain instabilities; this diversity is related to the geological complexity, mainly the tectonics and the mineralogical procession of the geological formations which seem to play the role of a catalyst in the acceleration and the development of the instabilities in the region.

lithological, topographic, climatic and anthropogenic factors. But, the results acquired from different neo tectonic studies in the Constantinois Tell (Raoult J.F., 1974, Marre A., 1987, Amireche H., 2001, Benabbas C., 2006) confirm that the relief deformation, mass movements and slops vulnerability depend also on the structural context. The active nature of north Algeria in general and the eastern Tell particularly increase the land movements related to relief deformations. These relief deformations are often connected to a morpho structural context marked by a neotectonic activity. The Zighout Youcef area is among the most deformed zones of the Constantinois Tell, where the geological structures associated with an active neotectonic and gravity movements are still poorly understood, which is necessary to know in details the structural context. With this study we would to clarify if the tectonic heritage is sufficient to trigger slops destabilization, and if the neotectonic is responsible for gravity hazard. In addition, these investigations will
improve our understanding about the evolution of slopes in the recent geological period (from Mio Pliocene to present) and about the triggering process of ground movements, sometimes with vast amplitudes. For a better understanding of this problem, we carried out a study of geological and morpho structural features, based on mapping tool. We presented a detailed analysis of the horizontal and vertical relief evolution, based on the elevation maps analyses at different scales and
completed with morpho geological cross sections. Besides, the relief analysis was coupled with aerial photography examinations. This remote sensing technique was established on a multi-source mapping, based on a correlation between the three information layers: aerial photography, geological maps and land topography, this
aid to locate the recent geological structures and determine their involvement in the relief deformations and slopes instability. In parallel, X-ray diffraction mineralogical analyzes were carried out on the most affected soils by mass movements in order to determine the presence and influence of clays minerals on movements acceleration. The association of these research techniques allowed us to improve our knowledge about the geomorphological organization and the post orogenic structuration of Zighout Youcef area. The recent and current tectonic activity consolidates and control the relief deformations. The geological structures and the mountain aspect of this area, accelerate and even amplify the slopes instability.

Constantinois platform, considered as parautochthonous structure overlapped by Tellian units, is composed of carbonate and cilico-clastic sedimentation during the Aptian-Albian interval. The main objective of this study is to determine environmental conditions of aptian-albian facies and to evaluate tectonic control on sedimentary discontinuities setting up of Djebels Felten, Karkara, Zouaoui and Kheneg. Three lithostratigraphic formations have been identified: Kheneg algal limestones (lower Aptian), Zouaoui bioconstructions (upper Aptian) and Felten marl-limestones (Albian). The facies and depositional environments of the Aptian-Early Albian rocks are identified based on their lithology, sedimentary structures, fossil content and microfacies. These allowed to identify a deposition model as isolated platform. This is characterized by lagoon-reef sedimentation during Aptian, which evolves towards a flooded platform with hemipelagic sedimentation during lower Albian. These changes, dated at least upper aptian, are marked by the development of emersion and condensation discontinuities. The magnetic susceptibility changes recorded in the studied sections made it possible to recognize several factors, which influenced magnetic signal such as platform morphology; sedimentary discontinuities; the detrital input and sedimentary condensations facies. Diagenetic study, based essentially on the identification of early cements developed in these discontinuities, allowed a better pinpointing the paleoenvironmental mechanisms developed during Aptian-Albian transition. Three major depositional sequences can be distinguished and indicate a deepening trend that generally coincides with the sea level rise, recorded in the Cretaceous seas. The correlations carried out on all the sections studied made it possible to propose an uplift of the platform and a tilting from North to South during at least the end of the Upper Aptian. The sedimentological study, of Constantine region massifs, shows an undoubted result as to the sedimentary origin of the upper aptian discontinuities, interpreted by some authors as thrust contact.Note de contenu :
