It corresponds to a subsiding area, where are accumulated is very
thick sedimentary deposits of Meso-Cenozoic age. These include two major series, a lower-calcareous marl gréso-dominant, belonging to the Mesozoic, the other upper gréso represented by Neogene marl deposits. They are separated by a major discordance related to the Miocene compressive phase .The Upper Cretaceous series has discontinuities represented by hard -sdnuorg indicating a fluctuation in sea level.
Based on the types of microfacies and the paleontological content ,the depositional environment is often subject to bathymetric changes .That could be attributed to tectonic and / or a eustatism where certain maximum flooding surfaces are reported.
The deepening of the marine environment starts from the Lower Cenomanian.
On the tectonically, different structures are represented by the dominant direction of Atlas folds. Accidents are directions NE-SW and NW-SE dominant and have compartmentalized the Timgad Basin tilted blocks. A great tectonic accident overlapping oriented substantially EW, generated dislocations ramps facing south.
On the hydrocarbon potential and based on different data (geological and geophysical), potential trapping fo hydrocarbons in the Timgad basin were estimated qualitatively. The petroleum system in the Timgad basin consists of three source rocks moderately rich organic matter; the Vraconian the Cenomanian and the Turonian. The latter seems more promising.
In addition ot source rocks, the reservoirs of the basin, such as the Lower Albian, Cenomanian upper and lower Turonian represent weak petrophysical parameters, making it a bit tricky trapping or even if there would be an accumulation yield will be low .
The traps identified in the basin are of mixed type, where we find the
structures due to tectonics as anticlines and stratigraphic traps related to unconformity in the existence of clay and marl cover that blocks the hydrocarbon migration once trapped.

The whole part of the margin of the African plate to which the Alpine tectonics plays a crucial role in setting up different structures. Its structural evolution is related to tectonic events succeeding in the time since the end of the Paleozoic until today.
The terrain encountered in the study area are generally of Meso-Cenozoic age, consisting essentially of marine facies carbonate clay interspersed occasionally by clay and sandstone deposits, corresponding to the Neocomian, Barremian and Albian and lower Miocene.
On the sedimentological level, the limestones of the Aptian at the series of massive, Dj. Fedjoudj, Bou Arif and Dj Tarf part in internal domain subtidal to intertidal facies in the majority depends on a complex barrier, generally characterized by oolitic facies. This is usually sought when mainly be a barrier reef area and because of their petrophysical characteristic.
On the tectonic map, different structures are represented by structures of Atlas plicatives direction (NE-SW) and the compartmentalized Timgad basin south.
The hydrocarbon potential map and the data areas (geological and geophysical) surrounding and by correlation with the sedimentological context of the region, the Aptian age limestone could be a real tank.
The interest in the study of Oolitic deposits along the barrier complex is the result of discoveries of oil in many parts of the world.Diplôme : Magistère En ligne : ../theses/sc-terre/BOU7148.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10455 Caractérisation des paléoenvironnements des calcaires aptiens des Dj. Sciences de la terreTags : Teioualt Dolomies Volanginien tectonique Dolomite Valonginian tectonic تايوالت دولوميت القالنجيني تكتونيك Index. décimale : 550 Sciences de la terre Résumé : The region of Ain M'lila, located in eastern Algeria, is part of the outer zones of the alpine chain of oriental Algeria.
It is an area characterized by large carbonate deposits (limestone and dolomite). These deposits, which are in majority Cretaceous, have been affected by diagenetic events such as dissolutions, replacements, compaction ... etc.
Structurally, the massifs of Ain M'lila are characterized by tectonic especially breakable with folded structures. These structures are also affected by many accidents. These brittle accidents include the recesses which are numerous and whose direction is generally NW-SE. Accidents NS direction are also present in the form of faults, especially normal.
Outcrops forming the Valanginian of the massifs of Ain M'lila are mainly formed of dolomite. On the industrial side, these dolomites form important deposits of exploitation.
Many careers, including that of the massif of Teioualt were implanted in this region. The main objective of these careers is the exploitation of these valanginian dolomite of which physical, chemical and mechanical properties that make them valuable to the exploitation and thus meet the requirements of several industries.
Knowledge more detailed of this type of rocks of sedimentary, petrographic and diagenetic point of view is of great importance for understanding the genesis of dolomite (dolomitization), its transformation (dédolomitisation) and its distribution in the space. The characterization physicochemical properties of these dolomites are also of considerable importance for the confirmation of the quality of the material.
By projecting the case of the deposit of the massif of Teioualt on dolomitic formations of the other massifs of Ain M'lila, this valanginian dolomite may be a safe bet for future exploitations.Diplôme : Magistère En ligne : ../theses/sc-terre/BOU6643.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=9776 Les Dolomies des Monts d’Aïn M’lila.
