This thesis aims to: study, design and comparison of innovative generators adapted to the conversion of renewable energies, especially wind power in a direct drive. From a power (1.5 MW) and speed (1.55 rad / s) data given, we are dimensioned analytically two innovative topologies of machines to associate with a wind turbine with high power without gearbox.
The first topology is a Permanent Magnets Synchronous Machine with Low Speed (PMSMLS) and the second topology is an innovative generator for wind turbine that is the Switched Reluctance Machine with Low Speed (SRMLS), therefore, with large diameters. Start by an analytical model, we calculated the main dimensions of PMSMLS and the SRMLS and simulated operation of the generators from a numerical approach based on the finite element method.
Eventually, we performed a comparatives analysis of design equations, volumes, weights and costs of two different topologies of wind turbines generators studied (PMSMLS and the SRMLS).
Our work was mainly focused on the permanent magnet generator because this machine seems to be the most cost effective and most widely used in recent years. However, thanks to developments made in different areas and with the high cost of the magnets, the switched reluctance generator interests more researchers and industry for wind generators applications. - 109 f. ; 30 cm.

First, we presented the state of the art on wind energy and the conversion systems used (types of generators, most used configurations, etc ...). Then we exposed the mathematical models of each element of the wind turbine (the wind turbine and its command MPPT + the generator). Then we evaluated and examined two methods of vector control in power of the MADA in generator mode, the first to know: the direct command and the indirect command with the help of the correctors PI. According to the simulation results obtained, the indirect vector control with two cascade loops shows better performances for an invariant system. Finally, for nonlinear systems where with non-constant parameters, we applied the sliding mode control to control the active and reactive power with the use of an inverter controlled by the SVM technique to improve the electrical energy quality. to inject this energy into the electricity grid or we note that the simulation results show the reliability and robustness of this command which is given a good track of active stator power its reference with a negligible error.

This thesis was focused on proposing a HAPF, which is based on an APF and FC-TCR compensator to improve the energy quality of a wind turbine. The type of wind turbine used in this work is based on an SPMG with a full bridge converter. The converter consists of a diode rectifier, DC-DC boost converter, and VSC. The reason for choosing this type of wind turbine lies in the large harmonic distortion that occurs during the conversion of AC power into DC power. The thesis starts by providing a state of art of the energy quality issues that can occur in any electrical source, highlighting the standards of the most severe issues that should be respected. Then, the traditional and advanced solutions are discussed with a focus on the most used ones, providing some mathematical details and figures to show their performance, and providing their advantages and shortcomings. After that, some details of the control methods of the parallel APF and FC-TCR compensator are presented, some techniques of synchronization such as OLS technique and PLL are discussed and their performance is analyzed using different types of filters like the MAF, NLS approach, LPF, α- βCDSC operator, CCFs. Numerical results to show the performance and effectiveness of implementing these filters in the OLS technique and the PLL are presented. Moreover, some techniques of generating the reference compensating currents of the APF such as SRF algorithm and MPM are presented with details. Furthermore, some methods of generating
pulses such as PWM control, SVM control, hysteresis control, and MPC are discussed. Finally, the thesis ends with an application of the HAPF to mitigate the harmonics and improve the voltage drops of the aforementioned wind turbine. According to the results, it has
been demonstrated that in case of the FC-TCR compensator is well designed, with an acceptable attenuation factor, it can filter a high range of harmonics including the dominant ones and compensate for the voltage drops. However, in case the attenuation factor of the FCTCR compensator is not small enough, then the hybrid topology provides the best harmonic mitigation. Since, the APF is connected to only generate the dominant harmonics, its price decreases, and the possibility of applying this hybrid topology in medium voltage application increases.Note de contenu :

This manuscript treats the modeling, the control and the simulation of a wind energy conversion system driven DFIG on a 1.5MW. The turbine through a gear box drive the DFIG connected directly to the grid by its stator, but also by back-to-back converter placed between the rotor and the grid. The different components of the conversion chain are modeled. The Power Extraction Technique (MPPT) adjusts the speed of the turbine to the wind speed to maximize power. The wind turbine based DFIG control comprises both the rotor side converter (MSC) and grid side converter (GSC) controllers. The vector control (VC) based on flux stator oriented control, the direct power control (DPC) based on selecting the appropriate rotor voltage vectors and the errors of the active and reactive power, and the combined (VC-DPC) proposed between the VC and DPC for the control of MSC to decoupled active and reactive stator power control exchanged between the machine stator and the grid. The GSC whose main role is to keep the DC link voltage constant, guarantee sinusoidal grid current and the reactive power is set to 0, in order to have a unit power factor in the grid side, the GSC is controlled by the DPC, the control of the generator speed is assured by PI and IP controllers. Simulation results of the complete wind energy conversion chain based on 1.5 MW DFIG with the various strategies used in hypo and hyper synchronous mode using Matlab/Simulink are presented, discussed and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy during variations of wind speed, active and reactive power, robustness, against the machine parameter variations, the dynamic response and power ripple.

To achieve this aim, we have realized a modeling, a control and a simulation of wind generator which consists of a wind turbine, a Doubly Fed Induction Machine, a cycloconverter and a control block. The stator of this machine operating as a generator is connected directly to the grid while the rotor is connected via the cycloconverter which can control all the wind energy system. The stator flux oriented control technique, the sliding mode control, the CWCC (Cosine-Wave Crossing Control) technique and the MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) control have been applied on the control block to control independently the active and reactive powers delivered to the grid by the generator and to extract the maximum power. The integration of a Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS) between the wind generator and the grid has been realized to maintain the constancy of the
power sent to the grid, following the instability of the wind. Simulation results have been presented to validate and interpret the global operation of the proposed system.
