It attempts to examine the possibility of enhancing speed reading through teaching students skimming and scanning. A students' questionnaire and a test are carried out It takes the case of third year LMD students at Mentouri University Constantine. Thirty students are opted randomly. Through the analyses of the students' questionnaire and the test results, it is clearly demonstrated that students are aware of the importance of speed reading, and of its suitable application. They also believe that skimming and scanning develop speed reading.
