Résumé : |
Distance education is an off-campus learning system where there is a though physical separation of learner and instructor during the learning process. Therefore, it is important to take into consideration that there are innumerable possibilities to use distance learning mode as an in-dispensable pedagogical resource for students and teachers. Over the years, the Algerian universities have experienced and they are still experiencing a significant lack of tools related to technology, which in turn influences EFL students adversely. for this reason, the aims of this dissertation are: to investigate students' attitudes towards the worth of distance education, to develop an awareness among EFL students about the positive impact of distance education and to define the different factors influencing their attitudes towards access to modern means of education. In order to carry out our research, we hypothezised that if students ignore modern technology, they will develop negative attitudes towards it. To examine the hypothesis, a students' questionnaire was designed. Forty students were randomly chosen among third year L.M.D students of English as a foreign language at Mentouri Brothers University, Constantine. The results show that students have developed positive attitudes towards distance education, especially when it is delivered through the electronic learning mode using web, audio and video formats |
