This study is carried out to shed light on one of the translation problems in the Foreign
Languages Department in UMC. This problem concerns the translation evaluation methods
which result from the lack of universality and specific guidelines to follow when
evaluating students’ translation. A theoretical survey was carried out to find different
methods and criteria of translation evaluation, and then a questionnaire was administered
to teachers of translation at the Department of English, University Mentouri of
Constantine. One of the points of focus of this research is to show that translation quality
assessment is relative and that teachers do not use some common models for evaluation |
