Résumé : |
This research work aims at investigating the effective role of games in improving the EFLL’s
speaking skill inside the oral classroom. As a starting point to this work, a hypothesis was
stated; if teachers use games as a technique in their teaching, they will motivate their students
to interact, discuss, and debate so that they improve their speaking skill. For the sake of
checking and proving the above hypothesis, two main tools of research are used; a teachers’
questionnaire and a students’ test. First, the data collected from the teacher’s questionnaire
provided valuable information about the teachers’ opinions concerning the use, the
importance, and the effects of games when they are used in the EFL classroom. Second, the
students’ test, which was in the form of a game, aimed at testing the extent to which the use
of games in the TL classroom can influence and enhance the students’ speaking abilities.
From the data obtained through the two tools of research, the research hypothesis is confirmed
and proved to a certain extent because it was shown that there was a positive relationship
between the two variables of the hypothesis. In other words, the use of games inside the FL
classroom helps in the enhancement of the students’ speaking skill. |
