In other words, the present work is mainly concerned with the role of self-esteem in developing or enhancing learners oral skill in the classroom. It also attempts to shed some light on the importance of other affective factors such as: :motivation and self- concept. It is by means of two questionnaires administered to both teachers and third year L.M.D students, at the department of foreign languages, at the University of Constantine, that we investigated our hypothesis that look into high self-esteem students and their speaking performance in the classroom.
