language learners' oral performance in the language classroom. Through this study,
we seek to investigate and analyze the relationship between EFL learners' self-esteem
and their oral performance in the oral expression classes. The main aim is to attract
the teachers' and the learners' attention to the importance of positively valuing
themselves and their capacities, to be successful speakers of the foreign language. We
hypothesize that learners with high level of self-esteem will achieve better outcomes
and better grades; whereas, learners with low self esteem will have lower grades. In
the pursuit of our aim and in order for us to test the hypothesis, we have carried out an
investigation through a student self-completion questionnaire, which is administered
to one group of third year EFL learners. After having completed the questionnaire, we
divided them into two sub-groups; one is the good-mark group and the other one is
the low-mark group. The results obtained from the analysis of both questionnaires
(i.e. the low-mark group and the good-mark group) show that there is a positive
relationship between the students' self-esteem and their foreign language oral
performance in the classroom, and that this relationship affects directly their level of
academic achievementDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6661 The role of self-esteem in enhancing foreign language learners oral communication in the classroom : The case of third year lmd students of english university of constantine [texte imprimé] / Sabra Houari, Auteur ; Abdelhak Nemouchi, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 20011 . - 83 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : Elevating self-esteem and oral engagement through enhanced teachers’ sociability : The case study of first year L.M.D. students of english at brothers Mentouri University Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Romaissa Abbas, Auteur ; Asma Boudefa, Auteur ; Achouak Bader, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 108 f. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Studies Self-Esteem Oral Engagement Teachers’ Sociability Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The main aim of the current study is to investigate the role of teachers‘ sociability in enhancing students‘ self-esteem to speak. In other words, in this study we shed light on the concept of teachers‘ sociability as recommended solution to improve students‘ self-esteem that, in turn, leads to better oral engagement. Since students‘ psychological state has direct influence on their academic achievements as far as their speaking skill is concerned, the teachers, as well, have a great influence on the psychological state of their students. To carry out this research and confirm its hypothesis which states that ―if there is higher teacher sociability, students‘ self-esteem to be orally engaged will be increased,‖ two questionnaires have been administered to both students and teachers. Students involved in the questionnaire are randomly chosen among 1st year LMD in the department of English at the University of Brothers Mentouri, Constantine, Algeria. Moreover, a sample of ten (10) oral expression teachers of the same department has been administered a questionnaire. These questionnaires are administered to check whether teachers‘ sociability has an effect on students‘ self-esteem to enhance their oral engagement. In addition to that, this investigation includes the discussion of the results and the comparison between the two questionnaires which enable us to confirm that teachers‘ sociability has, indeed, a great influence on students‘ self-esteem to be orally engaged. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This present study aims to explore the notion of psychological abuse and students’ self-esteem.
As well as, we aims to Understand the disclosure of psychological dimensions on students’
behavior and determine the negative repercussions of verbal violence on students’ self-esteem and
the pedagogical side. In order to be able to analyze and investigate the main finding, we asked a
direct question which is: To what extent does psychological abuse or trauma affect students’ selfesteem? After the logical analysis of our question, we investigate our hypothesis which claims that
expressing traumatic events by teachers would decrease students’ self-esteem. The descriptive
method was used based on administering one simple questionnaire for the students. The students’
questionnaire was administered to a sample of third year of EL HADJ BEN MANSOUR middle
school at the region of BORJ BOURERIDJ in order to know abo ut students’ awareness of the
effect of psychological trauma on students’ self-esteem. The results from the pupils’ questionnaire
demonstrated that pupils’ self-esteem was affecting by traumatic experiences. Moreover, the
