The present research attempts to investigate the relationship between learners’ self-esteem
and their performance. The questions here are as follows: Is good performance due to a high
self-esteem? How can teachers avoid the frustration of the students suffering from a low selfesteem
and strengthen it when it already exists in the confidence of the rest of students. The
main aim; therefore, is to prove that teachers can help students with low self-esteem if they
only recognize its symptoms, self-esteem can be built and strengthen; and good performance
either in the oral or the written language is due to positive thinking. This case study
investigates the self-esteem of master one English student. This study is meant to give
guidelines to the University teachers in mixed self-esteem classes to involve those suffering
from low self-esteem in an attempt to think positively using a technique that will for sure
build students’ self-esteem |
