Résumé : |
The need for translation increased with the era of globalization. For this reason scientists and
researchers have been developing many strategies and tools to facilitate the task of translation.
One of them is Machine Translation, which has become the most used means of translation
for everyone, and especially for EFL students. On that basis, the present study attempts to
explore the advantages and disadvantages of this device and to set the appropriate way of its
use. To reach that aim, a questionnaire then a test have been given to a sample of 30 students
of third year applied language of English at Constantine 1 University seeking to know their
ability to avoid the disadvantages of this means while translating from English into Arabic,
such as: Google translation; and to suggest some appropriate ways to overcome these
difficulties. The collected data have been described and analyzed to prove by the end the
confirmation of the stated hypothesis that Machine Translation can never replace man,
because of many aspects of language such as: culture, social context, intention of the language
users etc… |
