| Résumé : |
The present study deals with the relationship between teachers’
written feedback on EFL students’ motivation to improve their writing
performance. It also aims to identify the forms of feedback which are most
effective in raising students’ motivation to write. The present study is based
on the hypothesis that appropriate use of feedback by teachers in the
classroom leads to higher levels of motivation. The data were obtained
through a questionnaire answered by forty-one (41) second year EFL
students and another one submitted to five (05) teachers of writing who
teach the same level. The findings indicate that the majority of student
respondents have a positive attitude towards their teachers’ feedback
because it has proven to be efficient in improving their motivation to write.
This was also confirmed by the findings of the teachers’ questionnaire. The
findings also suggest a number of criteria given by the participants that
indicate what effective feedback should be like. |
