Résumé :	The current research is intended to investigate the relationship between intrinsic motivation and oral performance. Our population consists of third year students and teachers of oral expression at the department of Letters and English Language Frére Mentouri University. We carried out this study under the hypothesis which claims that if students are intrinsically motivated their oral performance is likely to be improved. In order to test the validity of this hypothesis we administered two questionnaires that are devoted to know teachers and students' opinions about the influence of intrinsic motivation on students’ oral performance inside the classroom. The results obtained have shown that both teachers and students are aware of the significant role that intrinsic motivation plays in students’ oral performance. Furthermore the two respondents emphasized the need to establish a motivational atmosphere inside the classroom in order for students to perform appropriately. On the light of these results, the previously mentioned hypothesis is successfully proved based on students and teachers opinions that both of them agree on
