Sociolinguistic Competence Speaking Accuracy Résumé : Communicating effectively in the foreign language is very important; and to perform it with proficiency is even greater. Sociolinguistic competence and accuracy are two important elements for effective communication, for they provide knowledge about the appropriate use of language in social contexts and in the choice of words. This study aims to investigate the effects of sociolinguistic competence, along with accuracy, on the students’ performance. We predicted that if we develop learners’ sociolinguistic competence their speaking accuracy will improve. The examination of the hypothesis was done through the administration of a test to a sample of forty students at the department of English, university of Mentouri Brothers- Constantine. In order to achieve this aim, we have based on two means of research: pilot test and the test. The test included three sections: the first one about general information, one about assessing sociolinguistic competence, and the other one assessing accuracy. Twenty items were given in each section where the students were asked to choose the appropriate answer from every sentence to test their level of sociolinguistic competence as well as accuracy. The findings of the study illustrated that the subjects who outperformed in sociolinguistic competence also tended to show better accuracy scores. The results, hence, were in the direction of our hypothesis, which means that there is a strong relationship between sociolinguistic competence and speaking accuracy. The study would, therefore, recommend the application of sociolinguistic tasks to enhance accuracy level as with proficiency in learning English as a foreign language. oral performance at the department of foreign language branch of English studies at Mentouri
University of Constantine. It is hypothesized that If the affective, language and pedagogical
obstacles are minimized, students‟ speaking performance will likely to improve .To conduct this
study, we have used a quantitative descriptive research based on one suitable tool: two
questionnaires. The first one is directed to 30 first year LMD students from a population of 350, to
determine their perception of the factors that impede their oral performance. The second
questionnaire is administered to 10 teachers of oral expression at the department of English in
Mentouti University of Constantine in order to explore the strategies used by teachers to overcome
these problems. Based on the results of both questionnaires, students of English are found to face
many obstacles in their speaking performance. Among these obstacles, anxiety, lack of selfconfidence and grammatical mistakes are the serious ones. To add, students need a positive
classroom atmosphere to overcome these obstacles and be fluent speakersDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15835 Analyzing the Emotional and Linguistic Factors that Make Students of English Uncomfortable in speaking performance Case Study: First Year LMD Students of English At‟‟ Mentouri Brother „‟University , Constantine-1 [texte imprimé] / khaoula Sellami, Auteur ; Azeddine Boulfelfel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 92 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Oral performance Fluency Accuracy Comprehensibility. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The current research is intended to investigate the relationship between intrinsic motivation and oral
performance. Our population consists of third year students and teachers of oral expression at the
department of Letters and English Language Frére Mentouri University. We carried out this study
under the hypothesis which claims that if students are intrinsically motivated their oral
performance is likely to be improved. In order to test the validity of this hypothesis we
administered two questionnaires that are devoted to know teachers and students' opinions about the
influence of intrinsic motivation on students’ oral performance inside the classroom. The results
obtained have shown that both teachers and students are aware of the significant role that intrinsic
motivation plays in students’ oral performance. Furthermore the two respondents emphasized the
need to establish a motivational atmosphere inside the classroom in order for students to perform
appropriately. On the light of these results, the previously mentioned hypothesis is successfully
proved based on students and teachers opinions that both of them agree onDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15387 Investigation of the Relationship Between Students' Intrinsic Motivation and their Oral Performance [texte imprimé] / Nour El Houda Bouhzam, Auteur ; Saliha Beleulmi, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 72 f. ; 30 cm.
