Résumé : |
This research aims at raising both students‟ and teachers‟ awareness of the different writing strategies use in classroom. Also, it seeks to show how students‟ improvements in writing can emerge when the right decisions are taken considering the appropriate choice of these strategies. The target population of this study is First Year Students at Constantine 1 University. In order to test the validity of the hypothesis, we used three means of research: two questionnaires; one for students and the other for teachers of writing and a test for students. The results obtained from both questionnaires were of great value since they provided us with relevant information concerning the teaching strategies in use by most teachers, the different techniques accompanying each teaching strategy, and the strategies mostly preferred by students. The test was of a great help as it confirmed the hypothesis; we could checked the correlation between the strategy in use and the student‟s writing improvement. Tested students who were submitted to the brainstorming strategy produced better writings than those subjected to the rewriting strategy. Accordingly, it is all about using the appropriate teaching strategy. |
