fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire written by George R. R. Martin. It attempts to examine
how Martin employs metafiction, historiographic metafiction and magic realism in order to
deconstruct and challenge the metanarratives that govern the society of his fictional world,
Westeros. Through this study, we can understand that Martin deviates from the traditional
narrative structure of fantasy genre and defies J. R. R. Tolkien‘s dichotomy of good vs. evil.
Moreover, the use of these narrative strategies creates a fragmented atmosphere that makes
the characters multi-dimensional, complex and look like real-life individualsDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11562 Postmodernist Narrative Strategies in George R.
