Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This dissertation examines the literariness of the Horror genre as part of the popular
fiction realm and looks into the postmodern themes and techniques in Stephen King’s Cell.
This research examins horror beyond the supernatural: it looks at the realistic side of it and
confronts the common belief that Horror books are a form of amusement. Through examining
King’s novel as the sample and representative of the horror genre as a whole, this latter is
proven to be an archive of social anxieties and historical traumas.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=12569 Cell between Reality and Horror [texte imprimé] / Ines Bouteldj, Auteur ; Amira Halim, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2019 . - 65 f. ; 30cm.

George R. R. Martin.Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This Master dissertation deals with the use of postmodernist narrative strategies in the epic
fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire written by George R. R. Martin. It attempts to examine
how Martin employs metafiction, historiographic metafiction and magic realism in order to
deconstruct and challenge the metanarratives that govern the society of his fictional world,
Westeros. Through this study, we can understand that Martin deviates from the traditional
narrative structure of fantasy genre and defies J. R. R. Tolkien‘s dichotomy of good vs. evil.
Moreover, the use of these narrative strategies creates a fragmented atmosphere that makes
the characters multi-dimensional, complex and look like real-life individualsDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11562 Postmodernist Narrative Strategies in George R.
