Training Oral production.Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Oral production is without a doubt a very important skill when it comes to learning any language.
Thus, if we want EFL learners to be fluent and good at speaking we should think outside the box
and find variant and new ways to improve their oral production. The purpose of this work is to
explore the effectiveness of using soft skills training to improve EFL student‟s oral production. In
our study, we hypothesize that that oral production would improve significantly through studentselected participation in explicit external soft skills training. The main threefold objectives of the
work are identifying the importance of soft skills training and how it is used in education and EFL
classes; discussing the main problems which may hinder the oral performance and providing
strategies to help EFL learners overcome these difficulties; and, lastly investigating how soft skills
training affects EFL students‟ oral production. This study is based on two research instruments.
An interview in which two soft skills training program managers took part and a
questionnaire administrated to EFL learners who took part in one or more soft skills training
programs. The analysis of the interviews and the questionnaire showed that both soft skills
training program managers and students feel confident about using soft skills training to improve
the oral production of EFL students.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13878 Attitudes About The Effect Of Soft Skills Training On English As A Foreign Language Students’ Oral Production [texte imprimé] / Ouarda Benlakhlef, Auteur ; Mohamed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 95 f. ; 30cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : the speaking skill EFL, and debate. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Nowadays, speaking English is undoubtedly crucial since the English language has
become the global language used by people who speak different tongues. Due to the new
technologies and the advances of the modern world, people seem to need a shared language to
use in order to communicate and exchange cultures with others. The English language offers
the opportunity to do so since they use it in their travels, to get better jobs and especially in
education. Thus, to master the English language, the mastery of the speaking skill must take
place. It is a fact that EFL learners around the world encounter difficulties in developing the
ability of speaking the target language. As a result, they cannot succeed to be fluent speakers
unless they are provided with the teachers’ guidance through the use of different techniques to
help them overcome these difficulties. Teachers must take into account the significance of the
speaking skill and, therefore, introduce learners with one of the most believed techniques in
developing this skill, in-class debate technique. The purpose of this research is to explore the
teachers’ attitudes towards the effectiveness of classroom debate in enhancing EFL students’
speaking competence. To carry out this study, we chose a quantitative descriptive method.
The teachers’ questionnaire is the only one tool of research which was used to collect data.
The obtained data which were carefully analysed reveal that Oral Expression teachers’
involved in this study hold positive attitudes regarding the relationship between the speaking
skill and the in-class debate technique. In addition, they show their agreement on the
effectiveness of the debate technique in boosting oral proficiency. As a result, our stated
hypothesis- If Oral Expression teachers used in-class debate technique in their classes, then
learners’ speaking skill would enhance- is confirmed. We conclude, then, that the use of inclass debate is a vital and a successful technique which can develop the speaking skill of EFL
students.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13877 Teachers’ Attitudes towards the Effectiveness of the In-class Debate Technique in Enhancing EFL Learners’ Speaking Skill The Case of Oral Expression Teachers at the Department of English, Frères Mentouri, University of Constantine -1- [texte imprimé] / Nadia Khenine, Auteur ; Mohamed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 85 f. ; 30cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Development of Vocabulary difficult task for most foreign language. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Learning English is a difficult task for most foreign language learners particularly when it
comes to learning vocabulary. Since vocabulary is important for communication, writing, and
reading, learners need to apply effective strategies to enrich their vocabulary repertoire not
only to understand English, but also to easily express themselves both in oral and written
form, but, they often find problems to do so. One of the most effective skills to learn
vocabulary is regular reading. The reading skill contains many types, one of the most
effective types is reading for pleasure. Reading for pleasure is known to be important in
language learning, because it enables students to increase their level of understanding the
language, acquiring, and learning vocabulary and language structures. However, many
learners of English as a foreign language are either not aware of the important role of reading
for pleasure in developing vocabulary or do not give it much importance among the other
skills. This study aims at investigating the role of reading for pleasure in enhancing English as
a foreign language learners’ vocabulary for second year students at the Department of Letters
and English at Frères Mentouri Constantine 1 University. To examine the validity of our
hypothesis, in the sense that if learners of English as a foreign language read for pleasure,
they would increase their vocabulary repertoire; we have administered one questionnaire for
the teachers of different subjects at the Department of Letters and English at Frères Mentouri
Constantine 1 University. The teachers’ questionnaire was administered to 20 teachers, so as
to explore their attitudes towards the role of reading for pleasure in developing EFL learners’
vocabulary. The obtained results from the teachers’ questionnaire showed that our hypothesis
was confirmed. The respondents agreed that reading for pleasure is an effective way to learn a
large amount of words. Besides that, many teachers claimed that reading is the best skill
v
compared to the other skills to solve students’ vocabulary problems, and reading for pleasure
is the effective activity that helps students in developing their vocabulary.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13647 The Development of Vocabulary Learning through Reading for Pleasure The Case of Second year English Students at Frères Mentouri, Constantine 1 University [texte imprimé] / Ikram Houria Tsenia, Auteur ; Mohamed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 91 f. ; 30cm.

Format : 30cm. Note générale : Une copie electronique PDF disponible au BUC. Langues : Français (fre) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Over the past several decades, considerable interest has been directed toward students’
engagement in learning due to its substantial effect on their academic achievement, especially
in the field of language learning/ teaching .This study was undertaken to examine the impact
of the proactive approach on fostering EFL learners’ level of engagement in speaking
activities. It took place in the Department of Letters and English Language at University “Des
Fréres Mentouri”, Constantine during the academic year 2016/2017. To achieve the aim of
this study, we opted for three means of data collection: the interview, the observation, and the
questionnaire. Since this study is comparative, we, first, informally interviewed first year
Oral Expression teachers in order to select two groups; one taught by a proactive teacher, and
another with a non-proactive teacher. This is to compare students’ level of engagement in
both groups. Second, both groups were observed for two sessions in order to elicit
information about students’ attitudes and level of engagement in the Oral Expression course.
Teachers of both groups were also observed for the sake of knowing whether or not they are
proactive. This step helped in confirming the interview results. Third, a questionnaire was
administered to students to validate and confirm the observation outcomes. The obtained
results strongly confirm the hypothesis which says that the proactive approach helps in
enhancing EFL learners’ level of engagement in the Oral Expression course. Unsurprisingly,
learners’ level of engagement was different in both groups. The students who were taught by
the proactive teacher were more engaged than the students who were taught by the nonproactive teacher. Therefore, this study can be considered as a call for action for all teachers
in general and teachers of Oral Expression in particular to take into consideration
implementing the proactive techniques in their programs, because it has been proven to be
effective.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=12289 The Effect of the Proactive Classroom Management Approach on Enhancing EFL Learners’ Engagement in Speaking Activities: A Case Study of First Year Students at University “Des Frères Mentouri” Constantine [texte imprimé] / Cheima Boukhadra, Auteur ; Khadidja Latreche, Auteur ; Mohamed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2016 . - 104 f. ; 30cm.

for pleasure graphic novels.Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : In order to promote the right skills, attitudes and awareness to achieve the meaning
constructed in written texts effectively, leaners have to be engaged in multiple textual
modes. Graphic novels are means that use visual representations as extensions of text
to facilitate the processes of reading comprehension. In that, they create an enjoyable
atmosphere in the classroom, especially if teachers encourage their learners to read
them for pleasure. Such activity increases learners’ motivation to read more and allow
them to engage in active meaningful learning. Graphic novels help learners becoming
lifelong readers. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of
reading graphic novels for pleasure in middle school classes of English and to evaluate
the degree of their influence on pupils’ reading comprehension. The underlying
hypothesis is that third year pupils at the elementary level may have positive
perceptions towards the role of reading graphic novels for pleasure in developing their
reading comprehension. In order to achieve such an aim and test our hypothesis, we
have administered a questionnaire for middle school teachers of English in Constantine.
The questionnaire served to enquire into middle school pupils’ reading comprehension
difficulties in English, attitudes and opinions towards reading for pleasure and the use
of graphic novels in foreign language classrooms. The results obtained from this
investigation confirmed our hypothesis and proved that reading graphic novels for
pleasure contribute greatly to the development of third year pupils’ reading
comprehension at the elementary level. On this account, teachers should consider
incorporating graphic novels in their reading lessons to help improve pupils’ reading
comprehension and motivate them to engage in the lesson with more enthusiasm.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13856 The Impact of Reading Graphic Novels for Pleasure on Enhancing Third Year Pupils’ Reading Comprehension at the Elementary Level [texte imprimé] / Soumia Dermouchi, Auteur ; Mohamed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 137 f. ; 30cm.
