identifying adjectives. The study aims to point out the difficulties and areas that
students suffer from. The research presented a literature review including some
definitions, kinds, positions and, order of adjectives then some differences between
adjectives and adverbs supported by examples. We designed a test to collect the data
from the sample which was chosen randomly. The sample consists of thirty students of
second year LMD from the Department of Foreign Languages University of
Constantine plus a questionnaire to support the test results. The findings of the study
confirm the hypothesis suggested before (If EFL learners have problems with kinds
positions and, exceptions of adjectives they cannot be able to identifying it properly) , it
indicates that EFL learners are not able to identify the adjectives properly, and
students cannot differentiate between the adjectives and the adverbs. Finally the research
presented some recommendations and suggestions to students in order to help them
overcome these difficulties.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4138 Difficulties facing efl learnerswhen identifying adjectives : The case second 2nd year students at the department of University of Constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Amina Benhammou, Auteur ; Siham Medjrab, Auteur ; Soulef Boulmerka, Auteur . - CONSTANTINE (Route Ain el bey, BP 325, ALGERIE) : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 56 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Applied Language Studies Anxiety Speaking Skills Social Environment EFL Learners Language Anxiety Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study aims at investigating the effect of social environment factors on EFL learners‟ speaking skills. In other words, it is an attempt to see whether living in urban or rural areas can cause language anxiety or not. Thus, it hypothesized that the EFL learner, living in the city, will not face the problem of anxiety in speaking for being positively influenced by good social environment conditions. Meanwhile, the EFL learner, living in the village, will face the problem of anxiety in speaking for being negatively influenced by bad social environment conditions. The hypothesis was evaluated by an analytical study inferred from the results of a formal questionnaire handed to M1 English students at Mentouri University, Constantine. During the analysis of data, we used a “causal-comparative” study to compare urban and rural students. The analysis of the questionnaire revealed that students living in poor environments feel more anxious when speaking in class. In contrast, students living in rich environments feel less anxious when asked to speak in front of classmates. Hence, it is only a matter of exposure and practice. To some extent, the social environment can determine whether students are anxious or not. Accordingly, the hypothesis was validated after obtaining the results and we tried to put forward some recommendations to cope with the problem of the social environment Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4233 The social environment issues that cause language anxiety for efl learners in learning speaking skills : A case study of first year master students, Mentouri University, Constantine [texte imprimé] / Abdelfettah Gaassis, Auteur ; Habib Khaled, Auteur ; Sabrina Bouhali, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE (Route Ain el bey, BP 325, ALGERIE) : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 67 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The impact of subtitled digital storytelling on EFL learners’ reading comprehension : The case of third-year pupils at Hassan Bourghoud middle school in Constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Hala Yasmine Khaled, Auteur ; Hadjer Bellout, Auteur ; Mohammed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 95 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Language Sciences Digital Storytelling Reading Comprehension EFL Learners Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This dissertation aims to investigate the impact of using subtitled digital storytelling, a technology-integrated instructional tool, on English as a foreign language (EFL) learners’ reading comprehension. Our supposition is that the combination of printed and audiovisual media satisfies the diverse learning styles and preferences of learners in addition to increasing motivation to read. Further, digital storytelling can facilitate word decoding. It is by means of two research tools that we achieved the aim of our study: the questionnaire and the test. Two questionnaires served to enquire into EFL middle school learners’ reading comprehension problems, attitudes toward digital storytelling, and its potential implementation. The first questionnaire was administered to fifteen middle school EFL teachers in Constantine. Another questionnaire was administered to thirty-three third-year middle school EFL learners at Hassan Bourghoud Middle School. Our second research tool, the test, served to empirically examine the impact of subtitled digital stories on reading comprehension. The results of this study confirmed our hypothesis that digital storytelling can enhance reading comprehension. Moreover, it can increase learners’ motivation to read. On this account, teachers should consider incorporating digital stories in their reading lessons Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4316 The impact of subtitled digital storytelling on EFL learners’ reading comprehension : The case of third-year pupils at Hassan Bourghoud middle school in Constantine [texte imprimé] / Hala Yasmine Khaled, Auteur ; Hadjer Bellout, Auteur ; Mohammed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE (Route Ain el bey, BP 325, ALGERIE) : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 95 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Language Studies Code Switching Facebook EFL Learners Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present research seeks to investigate the phenomenon of Code Switching on Facebook between English and Algerian Arabic and examine the motives behind it among third year students at the Department of English, Mentouri University, Constantine 1. We hypothesise that EFL learners would code switch between English and Algerian Arabic when connecting on Facebook in order to fill some lexical gaps. To check the validity of this hypothesis, Facebook screenshots are taken and two questionnaires are administered to a random sample of English BA students at Mentouri University, Constantine 1. The obtained results have revealed that because of the students` lack of English lexis coupled with their desire to joke and communicate easily, they code switch, in different ways, from English into Algerian Arabic or vice versa. Therefore, this work suggests a new way to ameliorate students` English level through using the phenomenon of Facebook interactions as a means of teaching and learning English vocabulary Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4737 Code switching among efl learners on facebook : The case of third year english students at mentouri university, constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Ryma Boudjouada, Auteur ; Youcef Beghoul, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE (Route Ain el bey, BP 325, ALGERIE) : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 76 f. ; 30 cm.

Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study aims to investigate the influence of the Arabic mother language on English
foreign learners in the writing skill. Most of EFL learners think in Arabic when they use
English that is why their English sounds like Arabic. Since writing in a foreign language is the
students’ aim in EFL classrooms, the importance is given to eliminating the problem of
Arabic interference in writing English as a foreign language. Therefore, we hypothesised that
if Master one learners at Mentouri Brothers University of Constantine have better capacities
and their level is good in the foreign language, this will reduce the interference of their mother
tongue that they generally exhibit. Throughout this study, we want to investigate how far does
the native language has effect the learners’ writing achievement on EFL in Constantine
University and thereby propose solutions to this phenomenon. To accomplish this study, we
designed a questionnaire and a test which were administered to Master one English students at
Constantine University. After the analysis of the data collected and the results obtained from
the questionnaire, we arrived to confirm the hypothesis of this research and we tried to put
forward some pedagogical recommendations, as how to find appropriate remedies that would
eventually help learners cope with the interference of their native language while using the
