Résumé : |
This dissertation looks at how Thatcher used a foreign policy to achieve her internal tendency. The Falklands war was relatively a short war between Argentina and Britain over the sovereignty of the islands but the impact of the Falklands Victory was highly significant in regards to Thatcher’s internal policies. Thatcher used her success in the war as a tool to cover her failure in her internal policies. This research attempts to show the effects of the Falklands’ Victory on the British domestic policies and specifically to shed light on the impact of the Falklands’ triumph on one of the main problems Britain was suffering from, which happens to be "The menace of Trade Unions." The Victory was a successful means for Thatcher to gain the public support and to restore her second term in the office. All the after mentioned factors gave her a political strength to weaken the power of Trade Unions and give more sovereignty to the individuals. |
