The negative impacts of technology and the use of spell check in smartphones and computers have been noticeable on the processes of English learning .The objective of this research is to identify and to analyse the negative effect of technology and spell check of digital devices on the process of English learning at the level of writing. It figures out that this negative influence can lead to create an auto- correct generation that cannot spell common words correctly. The researchers have used qualitative and quantitative approaches to collect data in order to find out how technology can influence student’s writing in a negative way. They have used questionnaire, and case study as a research instrument. Research is conducted at the Faculty of Arts and Languages University Brothrs Mentouri Constantine. In this study, the researchers have selected a sample of students in the department of English the faculty of Applied Languages University of Mantouri 1. Researchers take 40 as the sample in this study and 15 people in the case study. The results of this research show that there is a negative effect of technology and the use of autocorrect in digital devices in English learning process. |
