Résumé : |
The present research is based on one of the main crucial techniques used in
teaching foreign languages: feedback. Therefore, it aims at investigating the role of the
latter on EFL learners' motivation and speaking skill. In other words, it tries to show the
importance of feedback, that the teacher provides, in fostering the learners' oral
performance. Thus, it hypothesizes that through providing students with feedback, they
will show more willingness to interact which results in their speaking ability. To achieve
the stated objectives, two questionnaires were administered: The first was addressed to
teachers of Oral Expression, and the second to Second Year students at the University of
Constantine. The use of the questionnaire was necessary in obtaining their (both teachers
and learners) opinions about the speaking skill, the obstacles faced during oral
production and the provided feedback. The results obtained from the analysis of the
gathered data have shown that the use of feedback has indeed an impact on the learners'
oral performance. Accordingly, the hypothesis has been validated. |
